We never win anything. But on Valentines day this year we won tickets to a concert in Orange County. I really like both the artists, but being someone who would rather buy a CD than buy a concert ticket, I never thought of going.
This year we didn’t have to decide. The tickets were free and we went last night. My parents also gave us a gift certificate for the Chart House so we made a big night out of it. Great dinner and a big show.

Being out on a Monday night in the middle of a recession felt particularly strange when Billy Joel sang “Allentown”. I was born there. Never knew anyone there. Wondered why. Then they segued to “California Girls” and not a moment too soon. “Sing us a song, you’re a piano man…”.
